The morning air brought snow and the first intimations of winter. But by the afternoon, brilliant sunlight slanted through richly hued trees, ablaze with the last remnants of autumn. The Arnold Arboretum was a perfect backdrop for these engagement portraits (though I'm admittedly biased -- it's where Austin proposed). Beautiful though the backdrop was, Alise and Dan did the charming. It's impossible not to fall for them at first meeting. They're gracious, kind, funny, laid-back--and so in love. They brought along--and, to our delight, read from--the first volume of their journal of shared exploits. May there be many volumes more, inscribed with the love and laughter of years well spent, together.
